Marks from the Landscape

Line, rhythm and colour in the work of Colin Simmonds

Friday 19th - Sunday 21st July, 2019

A solo-short exhibition featuring the work of local artist Colin Simmonds

The Chapel Gallery presented the latest works by artist Colin Simmonds exploring the strength of mark making in the process of image making. Colour and expression have always been important to his work but recently the potency of drawing has begun to play an important role in freeing form and invention. His initial studies are often made in the landscape around Stoke Lacy in Herefordshire. He has paintings held in collections belonging to The Arts Council and Rathbones Investment Management. Colin will be in attendance on each day of the exhibition to talk about his work with visitors.
