Nick has a background in teaching, film studies and fine art. His paintings play with memory, identity and popular culture and often make reference to famous works in film, literature, music and art. He wants us to join him in puzzling over what a ‘contemporary painting’ might be while encouraging us to smile. His use of text can provide clues, but then again, may lead us astray. Nick has exhibited in London, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Bristol and has work in many private collections.
