Bee Box

10 artists respond to an iconic poem

by Sylvia Plath

Saturday 17th - Sunday 25th October, 2015

The gallery's first exhibition saw

Sylvia Plath’s poem ‘The Arrival of the Bee Box’ as the starting point for this artwrite project.

A small group of artists were asked to respond to the poem in whatever way they wished. Then subsequently nine writers were invited to make short written works inspired by the visual pieces for performance which took place in March 2016.

The idea was to see what would emerge from the double process of writers responding to artists responding to this wonderful and disturbing poem.
